I was drifting soundly with the thought of Graduation the next day. Fantasizing about those flying togas, handing over diplomas and nonstop picture opportunities. Never did I conceive that a bad news would consume up stress on my special day. A shocking news jolted my senses back. Made my body go numb. Stiffened my lips. I turned my head to face my sister who was beside me after my mama announced that my dearest Grandmother passed away.
It was really devastating to know she had gone too soon on our virtual world. Everyone knows how lively she has been when she was still with us. And her sudden death shook our lives. I know, I'll never see her smile again. The tone of voice whenever I decline her request to buy her a coffeemate in the store nearby. Her austere and clever comments about a certain issue. And her laugh that is beyond incomparable.
The passing away of my grandmother left bits of lesson that I'll carry for the rest of my life.
1. Abide your parents.
They are still your parents. Obeying your parents means respecting them.
2. Follow household rules. COME HOME EARLY.
I know. I'm a hardheaded person when it comes to this. I remember that she was even the one who scolds me whenever I come home beyond six in the evening.
3. Most of all. SPEND EVERY SECOND WITH YOUR LOVE ONE
While the time is still young, make great moments with your love ones. Show how you deeply care and love her while they're still living because we'll never know when the right time comes.
That's why i regret that I haven't spent so much time with my Mommy during my high school years. Upon going home from school, I'd immediately go straight to my room and watch there. Now, I regret and still, reprimanding myself for my wrongdoings.
MOMMY, I KNOW YOU'RE IN GOD'S MIGHT KINGDOM NOW. YOU HAVE NOW ZERO TOLERANCE OF PAIN, SUFFERINGS AND HARDSHIPS BECAUSE ALL OF THESE ARE NOW REPAID. I JUST WISH YOU'LL CONTINUE TO GUIDE ME JUST AS YOU DID WHILE YOU WERE STILL LIVING. I LOVE YOU AND I'LL KEEP ON MISSING YOU. TILL WE MEET AGAIN.
